About G&M Plumbing & Heating
G&M Plumbing & Heating opened in April 2002 as a small trade outlet in Copford, Colchester. Over two decades, we’ve grown into the area’s largest independent bathroom showroom with a 2,500 sq ft display space, a fully stocked trade counter and an in-house design and installation team.
We started with a simple approach: stock quality products, give honest advice, and treat every customer — trade or domestic — with the same level of care. That approach hasn’t changed. It’s just the showroom that’s got bigger.
What We Do
We supply bathroom products, heating systems, plumbing materials, electrical components and renewables to homeowners and trade customers across Colchester and Essex. Our showroom features over 200 displays covering toilets, baths, showers, tiles, furniture and fixtures from brands like Hansgrohe, Roper Rhodes and Merlyn.
For homeowners, we offer a complete design and installation service. For trade customers, we operate a well-stocked counter with competitive pricing and early opening hours.

Nick McCartney
Nick has been with us for 8 years, working across both the showroom and trade counter. An expert in interior design, he regularly shares tips and ideas with customers. Off-duty, he loves DIY projects and spending time with his two cats, Apollo and Atlas.
Chris Barnes
With 5 years of hands-on plumbing and 22 years in retail plumbing, Chris is your go-to for everything in the showroom. Away from work, he travels to antique fairs with Dory his dog, and enjoys watching Colchester United.
Adam Moulds
Adam is wrapping up his ninth year with G&M. Ask him about the 8 years he lived and worked in China — you’ll love those stories. He mixes study sessions in Psychology and Criminology with drums and guitar. An engaging conversation guaranteed.
Paul Baker
An ex-firefighter with 6 years at G&M, Paul brings calm authority and real-world experience to every customer interaction. When he’s not talking shop, you’ll find him restoring bikes or exploring the outdoors with his dogs.
Tim Gould
Tim started running marathons at 40 and hasn’t slowed down — five done, three of them in London. Celebrating one year at G&M but with 35 years of industry experience, you’ll find him equally at home in the showroom and at the trade counter.
Barry Green
Barry spent 30 years in the printing industry before joining G&M five years ago. He helps with fittings, deliveries and repairs. Outside work he’s kayaking the Colne or cycling off-road with friends — he keeps things lively around here.
